When we started
Established in 1999 by Mar and Avi and we haven't looked back since then!
Where we are
You will find us in the heart of the sleepy village of Manta Rota, only a few hundred meters up from one of the East Algarve's
most beautiful beaches.
What we do
Mar's is a fun and lively bar, serving great food and drinks where locals and visitors from all around the world and all walks of
life feel comfortable to stop for a chat and a laugh.
Who we do it with
We could not be where we are today without our amazing and hardworking multi lingual loyal team. We are very proud of
them. They will do everything in their means to make your visit to Mar's Bar & Bistro an enjoyable one!
When we do it
We open from 11am for one of the best breakfasts to be found in The Algarve. The kitchen is open all day and the whole
menu is available. An earlier breakfast can be provided by special arrangement.
What we are famous for
Fabulous food and cold beer in a warm and friendly environment! - Some rave over the the famous rack of very tasty baby
back spare ribs, others love the chicken kebabs with satay sauce or the huge homemade burgers - come and judge for
yourself but be sure to be hungry, the portions are big!
Why you should visit - again and again...
At Mar's Bar you can sit on the front terrace and watch the world go by or enjoy the garden area at the back. There is also
a bar and dining area inside.
The Menu is varied - we produce great food in our own unique style - always using fresh local ingredients. Everything is
prepared with care and dedication assuring the quality of everything that comes out of the kitchen.
If meat isn't your thing, then try veggie burritos, falafel, veggie burgers, huge salads and baked potatoes. Little ones are
looked after with a special kiddies menu as well as high chairs. For the more traditional we also offer fish ´n chips. (Sorry no
mushy peas...) and to soak up the beer - a good variety of sandwiches and tapas . We use only branded ingredients in our
bar and are renowned for our generous measures and fabulous cocktails. All of our fabulous cocktails are also available in XL
size!
For the beer drinkers out there, we pride ourselves on serving the coldest draught Sagres around.
If you like sports, then you can soak up the atmosphere watching the big screens inside and outside with fellow supporters
for all the major sporting events.
Mar's Bar prides itself on being sparkling clean both in the public areas and particularly in the kitchen. We take cleanliness
very seriously.
So - come and see us - we are pleased to welcome everyone young, old, gay, straight, local or visitors from afar. Well
behaved pets are also welcome on our terrace.
